MEET THE TEAM
LEXIE CLARK
It is such a pleasure to be part of a team who are so passionate about building a women’s space for this region. As President of the Coffs Harbour Lions Club, I am proud of our female and male members for their support, work and vision. There is no doubt that NOW is the time for women to unite, strengthen and take action.
I am happily retired from a working life providing Government financial welfare advice and managing my own Accounting and Financial Planning practice. As an experienced leader and manager, I have strong communication and motivation skills and I strive to ignite drive and incite fun.

I am so excited about this project and the opportunity to be a leader in the establishment of a women's only safe space for Coffs Harbour. Besides, I can't wait to get my hands dirty and wield some power tools.
As a Digital Product Manager for TAFE NSW, I am delighted to bring more than 20 years of experience and skills in project management, facilitation, leadership, and digital product management to this project.

I am very proud to be on the Steering Committee for the Coffs Harbour Women’s Shed, a group of vibrant, caring and passionate women, committed to supporting and empowering women. I have devoted a great deal of my time supporting the local community and I am thrilled to be able to bring that experience and expertise to this project.
I have served two years as President of Urunga Lions Club, I am Vice-President of Urunga-Mylestom Chamber of Commerce, on the Board and Committee of the Bellingen Shire Council initiative Neighbourhood Care Network, Treasurer on the Board of Open Arms Care. I have experience in the banking, finance and tourism industries, and a passion for customer service. My husband Peter and I now own, manage and operate Urunga’s Washing Well laundromat.
ROSEMARY HANSEN
Í moved to Coffs Harbour 2 years ago to retire, but I am still working in the health industry. I joined Lions with my husband to meet people and make a difference in the local community.
When I moved here, I was astonished at the lack of accommodation and spaces for women to meet, in a safe, non-judgemental environment, so when I heard about the plan for a Women’s Shed I wanted in! I am so excited to be a driver of this project and can't wait to establish this much needed facility for the Coffs community.
I come from a family of ten children and my parents instilled that we should always help others who are less fortunate, so I am thrilled to be on the committee to make this happen for our community.
DI THOMPSON
I looked everywhere for somewhere to practice woodworking skills when I moved to Coffs Harbour 6 years ago. I was disappointed to find there was no equivalent to a Men's Shed for women. I was so excited to hear about the Women’s Shed project, so I attended the first ‘Splendour in the Shed’. I was blown away by the amazing women, atmosphere, and entire vision. It is obvious that this will be much more than just a shed. I can't wait to be involved in making this revolutionary space a reality for all women.
I have a background in accounting and business software consulting. I am a qualified high school ‘design and technology’ teacher, I’m also passionate about education. I’m looking forward to bringing this fun, safe, inclusive and much needed space to Coffs Harbour.

I had a 25 year career in the Music/Record Industry as a Business Manager and Comanager to some of Australia’s biggest Artists.
Currently I own and run the Twilight Food Market which has been running in Coffs Harbour for twelve years and for the past seven years I have been a volunteer/receptionist at the Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre which I am also passionate about.

Before the current 50c coin, my father used to say of money, "It's made round to go 'round!" I believe this is true of all our resources - if we connect and share in diverse assets we become happier, smarter, healthier and safer together. I'm delighted to be part of the power of positivity which is Coffs Harbour Women's Shed, initiated by Coffs Lions.
I believe that respect for human rights and social justice are cornerstones of strong and resilient communities. As Manager of Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre and member of Amnesty International Coffs Coast, I know everyone has experience, skills, talents and wisdom to add to our community brains trust. Bring on our women's space; let's get shedding!
